With nearly 12,500 students and 22 buildings in the heart of Chicago’s South Loop, Columbia College Chicago is constantly updating its building systems to modernize the campus. Columbia College Chicago’s commitment to historic South Loop buildings presents a unique architectural and engineering opportunity. McGuire Engineers (MEPC) has been working closely with the college’s facilities department to plan and implement campus wide upgrades to its electrical services, boilers, cooling plants and fire prevention systems.

- 623 S. Wabash, 10th Floor Arts & Design Workshop. Gut Rehab of floor to facilitate modernization of wood, metal, clay and paint shop for A&D Department.
- 623 S. Wabash, 8th Floor Arts & Design Lecture Room. Gut Rehab of floor for A&D workshops & lecture halls.
- 623 S. Wabash, Complete Renovation of Ventilation System. The project uses an existing light well to deliver conditional air to existing & newly renovated floors. The project was designed so that it can be phased over time allowing the college to renovate floors on their schedule.

THE DAYTON’S PROJECT
The project consists of the renovation and repositioning of the Macy’s building (formerly Dayton’s building) located at 700 Nicollet Mall Minneapolis, Minnesota.

McGuire Engineers, Inc. was hired by 601W Companies in 2015 and has been responsible for the complete renovation of all MEP/FP and Technology infrastructure for the building.

McGuire Engineers was tasked to provide MEP engineering, LEED & Well services for 450,000 SF of office space for Uber corporation.
